What’s Ahead For Gumbo Weather
Beautiful weather on tap across the northern Gulf Coast through the weekend, except some rain potential on Saturday. Nice time to take a step back, breathe, and tell y’all a little of what I have planned over the next couple of months.
First of all, I want to thank all of you who have come to read this blog! This past two week, I’ve had 1750 visits and 1500+ of them unique visitors. It is nice to know I’m not writing just for me and hopefully, your getting something useful out of it as well.

Now onto the future plans. At some point in April I intend to change hosts to allow me to use wordpress and put ads on the site. The domain will NOT CHANGE, but there will be a transition as I figure out how to use wordpress and the design options available. I intend to do this when the weather is quiet, but early April doesn’t really lend its self to quiet.
Following that, I’ll add a few more posts to the Severe Weather 101 series. I want to have enough that I can reference those posts during severe weather threats, so if you have questions, there’s an easy way to grab an answer. In addition, I’ll start another 101 series as we get into hurricane season. You guessed it, Tropical 101. Again, as an easy reference for questions during tropical related posts.
In addition, for hurricane season I’m going to add a patreon tier at like $1 or $2 a month. This tier will get you tropical updates delivered directly to your email. They will be biweekly in quiet times but for anything threatening the United States, you’ll get two updates a day. If it’s coming for the Gulf Coast, you’ll get 3-4 updates. The idea being, instead of having to dig through forums or technical weather service products, that you can get all the relevant info sent directly to you.
Any money raised will go to purchasing premium model access on PivotalWeather, to give me (and you) access to more information. In addition, I will be looking to purchase GR2Analysis which is a powerful radar tool that will allow for detailed analysis in real time and to really dig into past cases of interest.
Once again, I want to thank y’all for the support and I really hope everyone finds this blog to be helpful. I want to hear from y’all on things you want me to talk about or any general weather questions you have. Some of the best ideas come from an interesting question.
